That single word covers a lot of planning, infrastructure, work and involvement, not to mention financial risk.
Although I have been in the flooring industry for over 40 years, I had not worked in the distribution sector until I started working with selected Brookvale companies: Volante Ltd, Potts & Ward Woodcocks and Palmers. Over the last 3 years, I have learnt the distribution business through my involvement with the marketing, specialist products, and project business within this long-established group of companies.
It’s a hard business to market!

With over 6500 products in stock from a multitude of suppliers, ensuring that you have the right stock, in the right quantities, at the right price is not for the faint-hearted. Reacting to customer demand rapidly with personal service, because this is a personal business. The whole ethos of the business is based on looking after your customers, helping them win business with great products and service at the right price.
My distribution partners have clearly got things right, as they have been serving their customers for a long time: Volante (45 years), Potts & Ward (76 years), and Palmers (31 years) without a restructure in sight! The business model has always been the same: “look after your customers and work together to provide great flooring projects of all sizes and values”.
Each business has a different mix of products and trade customer types, but all share the same values. With the world in such a mess at the moment, it’s good to know that you can rely on these companies and their dedicated staff to offer you what you need in distribution.
All of this, plus some great exclusive brands and products that will help you win more business in both the commercial and retail marketplaces.
