Our categories of carpeting are shown above. The majority of carpet production uses tufting technology, which is quicker than weaving and thus reduces manufacturing costs. The carpet fibres in lower-priced products tend to be manufactured from polypropylene, with higher grades being produced from nylon, nylon/polyester and wool blends.

Tufting is done in different gauges and formats. The main formats are loop pile, cut/loop and cut pile in either twist or velvet construction. Each offer a different optic, feel and performance balance.
